Sasikala A.S. has a PhD in Gandhian Studies from the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Madras. She has been associated with GITAM School of Gandhian Studies since November 2016 as Assistant Professor in Gandhian Studies. She was previously an Assistant Professor in Gandhigram Rural Institute, Dindigul. Her research interests broadly cover the fields of Gandhian Studies, Environmental Philosophy, Indian History, and Peace Studies. She qualified UGC NET in Buddhist, Jaina, Gandhian, and Peace Studies. Her doctoral thesis was on the “Influence of Gandhi on Indian Environmental Movements with Special Reference to Silent Valley Movement”. She published a number of research articles, book chapters, and book reviews in peer-reviewed journals, and presented papers in various national/international conferences.
