The academic communities in India are following a Eurocentric approach in the dominion of historiography, its teaching and interpretation. We have our own specific models in all the spaces of the study of history.
Yet we are blindly running after alien methodologies. The author finds out the very root cause of such a catastrophe. This treatise attempts to closely examine five major figures those lived in the days of our historic struggle for national freedom and their methodology and Indocentric outlook in the reading of our past. Of them the vanguard position goes to Swami Vivekananda, Rabindranath Tagore, M.K. Gandhi, Maharshi Aurobindo and Jawaharlal Nehru and all of them had contributed tremendously in this direction.
